Introduction

At Yard Boss & Co your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information we collect when you get a quote, book a job or use our website, how we use it, and how we look after it. We keep it simple, because we run a simple business: lawn mowing and garden care across the Mornington Peninsula.

By getting a quote or booking a job with us, you agree to what's set out below. If anything here isn't clear, get in touch at hello@yardbossandco.com.au and we'll explain it.

Information We Collect

We only collect what we need to quote your job, do the work and keep our records straight. That usually means your name, the address of the property we're working on, your phone number and your email. When you fill out our quote form or send us a message, we keep what you send, including any notes or photos about the yard.

If we do a job for you, we also keep the usual business records: your quote, your invoice and a note of what was done and when. If you pay by card, the payment is handled by our secure payment provider and your card details go straight to them. We never see them and we never store them. If you pay by bank transfer, all we see is the payment arriving.

When you visit our website, our hosting and analytics tools may collect basic technical information like your device type, browser and the pages you look at. That just helps us see the site is working and being found, and it doesn't identify you personally.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to quote your job, book it in, do the work and keep in touch about it, things like confirming a time, letting you know if we're running late, or following up after a visit. We use your details to send your invoice and reconcile your payment, and to keep the records we're required to keep for tax and bookkeeping.

If you've asked to hear from us, we might occasionally send a reminder or a seasonal note. You can tell us to stop at any time and we will. We don't use your information for anything you wouldn't expect from a local lawn and garden business.

Data Sharing & Disclosure

We don't sell your information, ever.

To run the business we use a handful of trusted third-party services, such as our booking and customer management system, our accounting software, our payment provider, and our email and website hosting. Your information sits in those systems so we can quote, invoice and stay in touch, and it's only ever used to run Yard Boss & Co.

If a photo of your property or your yard would make a good before-and-after for our website or socials, we'll always ask you first. We won't put your place online without your OK.

We'll only hand your information to anyone else if the law requires it.

Your Rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to fix anything that's wrong, and ask us to delete your details once we no longer need them for the job or our records. If you've opted in to hear from us, you can opt out any time.

How We Protect Your Data

We take sensible steps to keep your information safe. We keep it in reputable, password-protected systems, we limit who can see it to the people who run the business, and we don't hold onto it any longer than we need to.

We're a small husband-and-wife business, not a bank, so we keep this honest: we won't promise things we can't back up. What we can promise is that we treat your details carefully and only ever use them to look after your yard.
